I understand having health issues and not being heard.

After dealing with a myriad of puzzling and seemingly disconnected symptoms, I was frustrated with the whole process. But mostly I felt like no one was really listening to MY concerns about MY health issues.

Finally, I received a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The only thing my ‘traditional’ Doctor offered was three different prescription options. All injectable drugs. One weekly, one every two days and one every three days. And worst of all, none of them could cure the MS, they only claimed to slow its progression.

A friend convinced me – a rural Nebraska girl! – to give acupuncture a try. My vision and numbness started changing in a few weeks. But healing really started right away with a better outlook on life because someone actually listened to me and was optimistic about my chances to get better. Looking at me today, you wouldn’t know I have MS.

“I began seeing Nancy for a couple of health issues that weren’t improving with any other approaches (including OTC medication, prescriptions, and other herbal and natural remedies). The improvement I’ve seen is incredible!”

“Thank you for helping reduce the knee pain I’ve had for months. I can’t imagine how much pain I’d be in without your expertise!”

“In January 2017 I was diagnosed with Stage Four pancreatic cancer. I knew I was going to undergo chemotherapy but I also knew I was not going to solely rely on western medicine. I realized acupuncture wouldn’t cure cancer but keeping my body in balance is a critical component of my overall health. Nancy’s gentle utilization of the holistic Five Element Approach which deals with mind, body, and spirit leaves me relaxed and mentally renewed after each session.”

5-Element Acupuncture

Treatments at Healing in Progress are based on the 5-element approach of Chinese Medicine. There are 12 channels of Qi (chi) and each channel is affiliated with one of the five elements: water, wood, fire, earth, and metal. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is about balance and provides an ancient approach to healing and preventing illness.

We’ll discuss your concerns before developing a personalized plan to help you improve your health.

This form of healing provides relief for many ailments, including arthritis, anxiety, migraines, allergies, swelling, pain, fever, stiff muscles and joints, asthma, hypertension, and back pain.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is most commonly used to treat pain, but it can also be utilized to address conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, colds, flu, fever, fibromyalgia, strains, sprains, and muscle spasms.

Cupping is used to treat acute and chronic cough, muscle tension, congestion, asthma, the common cold, arthritic symptoms, indigestion problems and some skin conditions.

Moxibustion uses a heated herb to warm the blood to rid the body of cold and excess dampness and regulate normal organ function and restore your health. It is most often used for gynecological problems, digestive issues, and in the treatment of hot flashes.

Chinese Herbs

Some of the herbs used in my practice include Astragulus for boosting the immune system, Chrysanthemum to relieve colds and flu, and Poria Cocos to relieve edema and pulmonary congestion. We’ll discuss which ones would work  best for you.
